Welcome to Max
Contraction Online, the home page of John
Little and his approach to rational, efficient
education to train your mind and body. In the
world of fitness and bodybuilding, John has been
responsible for no less than three revolutions in
how people view productive exercise. His first
two books (Power Factor Training and Static
Contraction Training, written in conjunction
with Peter Sisco) pointed out many of the
fallacies and deceptions that had become
entrenched as dogma within the bodybuilding and
fitness industries and then offered a scientific
alternative to the issue of building human
strength and muscularity. More recently,
Johns latest book, Max Contraction
Training (McGraw Hill, 2003), has further
refined and improved upon these approaches and
established that productive and efficient
training for the purpose of building human
strength requires a workout lasting no more than
10-60-seconds of actual training performed but
once a week.(more)
AN INTERVIEW WITH WORLD RENOWNED PERSONAL TRAINER DREW
BAYE
Drew Baye is without question one of the premiere personal
trainers in the world. His knowledge of exercise science
and its application to one’s personal fitness goals
and aspirations is exceptional in the health and fitness
industry.
He was a pivotal figure in the Superslow™ training franchises,
leaving abruptly on principle when he believed that they
turned a blind eye to scientific evidence that suggested
that extended contraction times were not as effective as
shorter ones with heavier weights.(more)
TESTIMONIAL: JOSHUA
TRENTINE - MY MAX CONTRACTOIN EXPERIENCE
I've been a competitive bodybuilder for 15 years. I discovered H.I.T.
in 1996 after reading Mike Mentzer's Heavy Duty Mind and Body. As a
H.I.T. bodybuilder, I've competed 10 times, never placing lower than
2nd, the majority of times first, with the exception of the UIBBN
World Championship in Paris ,France where I placed 7th.
Over the years my approach has become more refined, although
the longer you are in this game the harder it becomes to
produce continued
results, therefore I have adopted what I call extreme H.I.T. methods.
These are methods that go beyond the basic H.I.T. approach of one set to
failure. I believe the more advanced you are the further you must push
the extremes while conserving precious "recovery"resources.(more)
