 PHONE
CONSULTATIONS
Ever since the release of John's
revolutionary Max Contraction Training Principles
in Ironman magazine, we have been
deluged with questions here at Max
Contraction On-Line from people who wanted
to know more about John's unique training method,
and who wanted to learn more about his work with
the late Mike Mentzer and Mike's final
formulation of the theory of high intensity
training. We are therefore pleased to
announce that through an exclusive arrangement
with Mentzer-Sharkey Enterprises John Little will
be available on an appointment-only basis for
private phone consultations with those who are
either having trouble with their present training
or who are looking to better understand either
John's Max Contraction or Mike Mentzer's Heavy
Duty Training System.
MAX CONTRACTION:
This is your chance to learn
directly from the creator of the Max Contraction
Training System. John Little will answer your
questions about the Max Contraction System, plus
John will personally design a routine and diet
tailored to your specific bodybuilding goals. In
addition, you will learn:
- The groundbreaking
technique (fully supported by science)
that MAXimizes muscle fiber stimulation
and that has proven to be FOUR TIMES more
efficient than conventional training!
How MAXimum Muscle Growth
is REALLY stimulated.
How to structure your
workouts year-round for continuous gains.
How to double your
strength.
Why you don't need
repetitions.
Why you don't need
supplements.
Why you don't need sets.
The best specialization
routines and exercises to pack inches of
muscle on your arms, chest, back,
shoulders and legs and how to chisel your
abdominal muscles in the shortest time
possible!
HEAVY DUTY:
John will explain the pioneering
work of former Mr. Universe winner, Mike Mentzer,
perhaps the greatest bodybuilder of all time.
John will explain:
The fundamental
principles of exercise science so that
you may finally clear the confusion - and
start thinking logically and effectively
about bodybuilding.
How to dial up the
intensity meter to make your workouts
(and muscular gains) continuous.
The distinction between
aerobic training principles and
anaerobic, bodybuilding training
principles. And why you can't mix the two
-- or your bodybuilding workout
degenerates into an endurance contest.
Why there can be only one
valid, correct, true theory of productive
bodybuilding exercise. And why it is the
theory of high-intensity training.
That the big picture in
bodybuilding is comprised of two elements
of equal value - 50-50, not 60-40, or
70-30. Fifty percent is the workout
itself, and the rest period between
workouts is literally just as important -
50%.
The actual relationship
between exercise and nutrition.
AND MUCH, MUCH, MORE!
"In the '80s Mike and
Ray Mentzer became outspoken disciples of Arthur
Jones, which made Mike's 'Heavy Duty' column a
perfect fit for IRONMAN. Mike wrote for
this publication in the '80s and '90s. His work
was always popular and usually controversial, but
then came his untimely passing on June 10, 2001,
along with Ray's only a few days later. That
double tragedy left a considerable void in the
world of Heavy Duty training, but John Little, a
philosophical descendant of the Mentzers and
Arthur Jones, has come forward to fill that void
and continue Heavy Duty in the pages of IRONMAN.
Little had a 20-plus-year friendship with Mike,
and he's the co-author of Mike's last book, High
Intensity Training The Mike Mentzer Way
(Contemporary Books, Chicago). John's own Power
Factor Training
left an indelible
high-intensity mark on bodybuilders and
bodybuilding history, and now John brings his
unique perspective to the philosophy and
execution of Heavy Duty training. I'm proud and
excited that John has chosen IRONMAN in
which to continue the Mentzer legacy, and I'm
sure Mike would approve wholeheartedly. As Mike
wrote in the preface to Power Factor
Training, 'John has exerted considerable
effort over a period of time studying the actual
science of productive bodybuilding exercise,
i.e., he has acquired a firm intellectual
understanding of the theory of high-intensity
training.' He'll prove that beyond a shadow of a
doubt in the months to come. Welcome aboard,
John."
